Our software then takes you step by step through a series of lessons and assignments using graphics, Adobe® Flash® demonstrations, and clear, crisp audio.

Our Educational Approach allows you to learn at your own pace and complete all your assignments online, helping you earn a diploma recognized by colleges and universities around the country.

If you need a computer, iQ Academy will provide you with a laptop.

Our online learning environment gives you password-protected access to all the materials you need to be successful in your courses.

Computer/Internet Access

If you need a computer, you may use one of iQ Wisconsin's computers after completing the full-time enrollment process and attending an orientation session. Your complete iQ Academy equipment and supply list will include:

• Laptop
• Built-in wireless connectivity
• Dial-up and high-speed connections installed
• Virus protection software and filters to protect students from inappropriate content on the internet
• Internet stipend*
• All course materials, including textbooks and learning guides

* Families are required to provide internet in their homes. While high-speed connections are preferred, courses will run on dial-up connections.

Online Learning Environment

Like any school, iQ Academy is more than just lessons. Comparable to entering a school building to participate in classroom instruction, you'll enter the online learning environment to access your courses.

Blackboard, the software that iQ Academy uses to present course content:

• Provides students with password-protected access to all
  computer-based course material.
• Offers flexible navigation that makes it quick and easy to move from course to course.
• Provides standard tools so all courses have a similar look and feel.
• Allows students to submit assignments, view corrected
  assignments, check grades, and communicate with classmates and

electronic Course Program (eCP)

iQAcademy Texas is an online program through Responsive Education Solutions and is authorized to provide online school services to Students in grades 3-9 as part of the Electronic Course Program (eCP).

...establish a program to examine state policies, requirements, or restrictions impacting school districts that offer students enrolled in the district an electronic education program or course that includes use of the Internet or other electronic media in which the student and a teacher are in different locations for a majority of the student's instructional period."

Through the Electronic Course Program (eCP), the Texas Education Agency (TEA) will gather data to develop and support recommendations that enable high-quality online learning and identify appropriate state funding mechanisms for these courses and instructional programs.

Responsive Education Solutions was selected as one of three districts or open-enrollment charter schools to participate in the eCP. Responsive Education Solutions is approved by TEA to serve a maximum of 50 students for the 2008-2009 school year in Grades 3-8. In 2009-2010, the enrollment cap was increased to a maximum of 1000 students and the option to add high school grade levels was offered. Participating districts may earn state funding for Grades 3-9 students enrolled in the eCP; therefore, students who are eligible to participate in the program are not required to pay tuition for eCP courses. (No student is eligible to generate more than the equivalent of one full Average Daily Attendance (ADA).

Virtual School Policies

iQ Academy Texas has developed policies to support the learning and safety of all students enrolled in the program. Policies are reviewed and updated annually or more often as needed to keep them current and appropriate to program needs.
