My child has been doing regular home school up until now. He will be in 7th grade next year and we don't want him to have to repeat the work he already completed in our homeschool program. How do you count homeschool work?

Because every home school curriculum can be different, we will need to review any documentation you have of your child's elementary or middle school work so we can compare it against the requirements for the State of Texas. Parents are required to supply a transcript to iQ Academy Texas along with the enrollment application. Some homeschool programs that are "formal" will provide you with a transcript. Parents who have put together their own homeschool curriculum should provide a transcript of their own describing what courses the student completed in which grade, what materials were used, and what grade they received for the work. iQ Academy Texas reserves the right to request that students take placement tests in the areas of reading and math so that we can feel comfortable that students have mastery of the concepts needed to move forward successfully through higher level work.
