Frequently Asked Questions - Enrollment

It is important to keep in mind that student/teacher ratio does not translate in the same way in the online classroom that it does in the brick and mortar classroom. Because the engaging content in the learning management system guides students through their work, the teacher has more time to work individually with students as they have questions or need assistance. Even in this different model, however, the student/teacher ratio will be similar to that in a traditional classroom. Teachers will be working with approximately 25 students per course in the elementary grades and with approximately 35 students per course in the middle school grades.

Although we work very hard to make iQ Academy a positive experience for all of our students, if you feel that iQ Academy is not the best choice for your child you always have the ability to return to your local school or to regular home schooling. Keep in mind, however, that if this is your first time transitioning to online learning, attending orientation sessions is essential, and even then, there may be a period of a month or more of adjusting to the new environment. We STRONGLY encourage families to make at least a one semester commitment to attending. This allows your child the maximum opportunity to fully adjust to this new way of learning, and will make it much more likely that full credit for all work completed at iQ Academy Texas is transferable.
